Porcelain Crowns FAQ
How long do porcelain crowns last?
With proper care and regular dental visits, porcelain crowns often last 10 to 15 years or longer. Good oral hygiene, avoiding hard foods, and wearing a nightguard if you grind your teeth can extend the life of your crown.
Are porcelain crowns strong enough for back teeth?
Porcelain crowns are strong and can be used on back teeth in many cases. However, for patients with heavy bite forces or significant grinding, we may recommend zirconia crowns for extra strength.
Will my porcelain crown look natural?
Yes. Porcelain crowns are custom shaded and shaped to blend with your surrounding teeth. The goal is for your crown to look and feel like a natural part of your smile.
Is getting a porcelain crown painful?
Our team uses local anesthetic to keep you comfortable during the crown procedure. You may feel some mild sensitivity afterward, but this usually improves within a few days.
