Dr. Steven Cook - General Dentist

Dr. Steve Cook grew up on the central coast of California, where his father practiced dentistry for many years. He left California for the flatlands of Texas to attend college at Abilene Christian University. While there, he met his wife, Tonya, and together they moved to San Antonio where he attended dental school at the UT Health Science Center San Antonio.

After graduation, they moved to Seattle to start their careers. Dr. Steve practiced as an associate dentist alongside older dentists for five years. He bought his first practice in Bellevue, Washington in 2003. After the births of his two daughters, they decided to move closer to family and chose Austin.

Dr. Steve bought the practice from Brooks Goldsmith in late 2006. Dr. Goldsmith had built a well-established practice in the heart of Austin and Dr. Steve is proud to carry on the tradition of excellent customer service and patient care.

Dr. Steve Cook has built a reputation of being one of the top dentists is Austin and has been nominated a Super Dentist by his peers every year since 2014. He collaborates on complex cases with the best specialists in Austin and only uses high quality labs to create beautiful, natural looking smiles. His goal is to create “Invisible Dentistry” that looks beautifully natural and not fake.

• Melissa is a dedicated, heart-centered general dentist with 6+ years of practice providing high-quality care and meaningful patient experiences. Aside from establishing long term relationships with her patients she is also passionate about helping others to achieve whole body wellness.

Personal interests:

Melissa practices ballet in her free time and enjoys active outdoors by hiking, biking and walking. She is passionate about the environment by reducing plastic waste and cleaning up our oceans. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and traveling to beautiful beaches.

Michelle

Job title: Business Manager

Michelle is from Lubbock, TX and moved to Austin in 1997. She is a Red Raider fan, but will root for the Longhorns when Tech isn’t in town. Michelle enjoys running, and her favorite trails are Lady Bird Lake and Arbor Trails. Michelle travels often to Memphis, TN to visit her family, and her favorite destination she has visited is Belize. She also loves spending time with her two dogs, Taco and Lola. She has been in the dental field for about 15 years and loves helping patients look and feel their best.

Martina

Job title: registered dental hygienist - rdh

Martina joined the Austin City Dental team in 2011. Before becoming a dental hygienist, Martina worked at Love Pet Hospital for ten years. Aside from animals, Martina loves to travel (especially to Germany and Maui) and to go scuba-diving. Around Austin, she enjoy biking, gardening and trying craft beers.

Pinky

Job title: registered dental assistant - rda

Pinky was born in American Samoa. She lived in California for 20 years, and Austin became her home in 1996. Pinky enjoys reading Sci-Fi Mystery novels, and spending time with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys traveling to the Pacific Ocean, and spends time in California, Seattle, and Hawaii.

Jen

Job title: registered dental assistant - rda

Jennifer was born and raised in Indiana and made Austin her home in 2010, when she joined the team at Austin City Dental. She loves to cook, and as a new homeowner, she likes to spend time working on her house. Jennifer and her husband brew their own beer at home and are passionate about exploring the local microbreweries in and around Austin. She spends the weekend exploring downtown, and finding new patios to people-watch.

Brittany

Job title: administrative assistant

Brittany was born right here in Austin, Texas. She graduated from Georgetown High School in 2004 and married her husband shortly thereafter. She moved to North Carolina while her husband served in the United States Marine Corps until 2007, when they moved back home to Texas. Brittany received her dental administrative knowledge and skills along with her RDA in June of 2013. She has enjoyed being in the dental industry ever since. She spends her free time reading, or relaxing at home enjoying a cold beer with her husband, while watching movies with their two kids, and their four dogs.

Emily

Job title: registered dental hygienist - rdh

Emily was born and raised in a small town in Mississippi known as Yazoo City. She graduated in 2017 from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Austin became her home in 2019. In her spare time, she loves to read, workout, and travel to new cities with her boyfriend. She loves the beach and her favorite destinations are Hawaii and Thailand.

Jessee

Job title: registered dental hygienist - rdh

Jessee was born in Los Angeles, CA, but grew up here in Austin. She returned to Los Angeles after high school to complete her undergraduate degree at the University of Southern California. After graduating from USC (but prior to dentistry), she worked as a publicist in the fashion industry for several years, but always had dentistry in the back of her mind. Wanting to switch gears to a career that benefitted peoples' health, she moved back to Austin to begin the process for dental hygiene school and to be closer to family again. She actually started working at Austin City Dental at the front desk in 2016 (while in school), and is thrilled to be back as a hygienist! Jessee loves how dentistry affords her the opportunity to connect with many patients one-on-one and build relationships with them, as well as to work with her hands and educate patients on the importance of oral health and hygiene. 

In her free time, she loves to spend time with her husband Benson, infant daughter Wren, and their pets (a cat, Lilah and a bernedoodle, Broly), decorate their home, and try new restaurants around Austin.

April

Job title: administrative assistant

April was born and raised in Texas, growing up around the Austin area.  April enjoys spending time at home with her husband and 2 cats, Willie Nelson and Daisy Dukes.  When not at home, April and her husband enjoy traveling especially to places with a beach.
